A&I is Ayeshe Sadr and Ishaan Dasgupta. We graduated from The Srishti School of Art, Design & Technology, Bangalore, in 2007, and have been working together since. Although we specialised in Textile Design and Visual Communication respectively, our mutual love for art and illustration brought us together.
We have a natural and organic approach to our work and are drawn to, the beauty of imperfection, and the unique character that comes with hand-drawn illustrations. Through the use of traditional media like watercolours, ink, collage and printmaking, we believe that the tactile, textural quality of these mediums, adds depth and richness to our work.
While we both have our own unique styles, our collaboration allows us to work comfortably across a wide range of media and subjects. It also lets us work on a diverse range of projects, from publishing to packaging to murals and beyond. The synergy that we create as a duo, allows us to approach each project with a fresh perspective and an open mind. Our collaborations often lead to unexpected outcomes, and this spontaneity is what makes us excited about our work.
We hope that these elements lead to work that resonates with people and is emotionally powerful and impactful.
